The 'beaches' poolside Café
(open early morning to early evening) offers a snack menu including breakfasts, paninis, beverages, milk shakes and soft drinks.
Here you can also shop for newspapers, bread, milk, confectionery, ice creams and a range of other holiday products.
If you want to keep in touch, The Beaches Café doubles as an internet café with PC’s available and free WI-FI access.
The village of Millbrook 1 mile away has several convenience stores with easy parking
For those active guests there is an INDOOR (very warm) swimming pool, and kiddies pool available all year round
The complex also has a washing up area, launderette, heritage centre, sun terrace, playroom, changing rooms and showers
Games room with American pool, table tennis tables and air hockey
Chapel and library where books are free to borrow. A quiet retreat in a unique vaulted room, original to the fort
Outdoor play area, Whitsand's wildlife Walk, Picnic areas, crazy golf, information centre, wildlife areas and viewpoints

We have weekly organised historic tours of the Fort monument including newly accessible underground ammunition rooms and tunnels, which have been closed for over 50 years!
The fort still has the gun emplacement , tunnels and other buildings which may be freely explored
We have regular tours of the Fort, and occasional archeological digs during the summer
The history of the Fort is still incomplete with research and further excavations planned

Whitsand wildlife walk
The path meanders around the fort glacis , with stunning views with every step
Wild local flora and fauna abound, and ever changing with the seasons
Benches at various points for you to take in the surrounding beauty
Look out for Kestrals, buzzards, sparrow hawks using the cliff thermals
In the bay we have a variety of marine life visiting occasionally, including dolphins, basking sharks and sea lions
Activity on the water will be commercial and recreational fishing boats, diving the local wrecks of HMS Syclla and The James Egan Layne, recreational boating, and surfing
With wonderful scenery, local historic villages, horse riding, golf and surfing available nearby, plus the close proximity of Plymouth and the wealth of Cornish tourist attractions, there is plenty
